And the Little Stone House was full of light again…

2010 started a month and a half ago, and work never stopped at our Bed and Breakfast. We worked on the new entrance, we planted some flowers, and we got a beautiful new night table, because we were missing one.
We also told our friend Mabel, who sells old recycled furniture, to keep a single bed apart for us to go get next month.
We are also thinking about making some work on the exterior roof, and add wooden tiles.
So, everything is looking nicer and nicer!

And it was then when our first reservation for 2010 came… Yes, on February 3rd, we got a request for a night stay on the 16th! We were thrilled with the news, so we started working on every little detail we could think of.
Ideas for new meals, recipes for bread, breakfast alternatives… we also changed just a bit the placement of the carpet in the bedroom, and then placed the crate at the bed’s foot.
Little details, but everything seemed just a bit nicer.

The days passed, and along came Tuesday 16th… the weather was not really helping, and storms revolved all the way around. Now and then, a light drizzle came down, and all we could think of was “please, no heavy rains today!”…

In the meantime, the bread was cooking in the oven, the room was ready and the lights were on… The Stone House looked beautiful, warm and welcoming.
We wanted to prepare some cheese and salami to receive our guests, whom we thought, might arrive quite tired after a long trip.

Around 19.30 we went to look for them at the bus station. Rain started falling. It was more than a drizzle now. At 20.10 the bus arrived, and with it, our guests, Beth and Nate, from Idaho…

They spent two nights with us, and it was a pleasure having them as guests. They liked the peace that surrounded the place and they told us everything was great, and it was exactly what they were looking for. We couldn't believe they came to Argentina just to spend two nights at our place. It was an honor, we were very happy.
We really enjoyed cooking dinner and breakfast for them, and we shared some nice talks about cattle, places and cultures, trips, and languages!

It was an extraordinary experience and the best way we could think of for a new year’s start at our Stone House.

Our next reservation is for the last days of March, and we are already looking forward to it! Unless we have a last minute reservation before that one!
